* Origin of myths *
There is much discussion about what might have given rise to myths about dragons in various parts of the world. In general, they are believed to have arisen from ancient peoples 'observation of dinosaur fossils and other large creatures, such as whales, crocodiles, or rhinoceroses, taken by them as dragons' bones.

Because they are relatively large in form, it is common for these creatures to appear as mythological adversaries of legendary heroes or gods in great epics that were told by ancient peoples, but this is not the situation in all the myths where they are present. It is also common that they are responsible for various mythical tasks, such as the support of the world or the control of climatic phenomena. In any form, and in any mythical role, however, dragons are present in thousands of cultures around the world.

The earliest mythological representations of creatures considered as dragons are dated to approximately 40,000 BC. C., in prehistoric aboriginal cave paintings in Australia. From what is known about it, comparing with similar myths of more contemporary peoples, since there is no written record about them, such dragons were probably revered as gods, responsible for the creation of the world, and viewed positively by the people.
