The cheetah is a carnivorous animal. It feeds essentially on mammals under 40 kg, including gazelles and impalas, gnu puppies, hares, birds and when you feel like it, you can even eat insects. The lion feeds on any prey it can catch, but the diet consists mainly of animals between 50 and 300 kilograms. Asian lion prey are generally smaller than African prey.
