Snake:
All snakes are carnivorous, eating small animals (including lizards and other snakes), birds, eggs or insects. Some snakes have venom to kill their prey before they eat them. Others kill their prey by constriction. Snakes do not chew when they eat, they have a flexible jaw, whose two parts are not rigidly attached. This is thanks to the square bone that functions as a fitting piece, which when necessary disarticulates its jaw to adapt to the size of its prey (contrary to popular belief, they do not disarticulate its jaws), as well as numerous other joints of the their skull, allowing them to open their mouths to swallow their prey, even if it is larger in diameter than the snake itself.
The snakes become numb after eating as the digestion process takes place. Digestion is an intense activity and, especially after consuming large prey, the metabolic energy involved is such that in Crotalus durissus, the Mexican rattlesnake, its body temperature may reach 6 degrees above room temperature. Because of this, if the snake is disturbed, after recently feeding, it will likely vomit prey to try to escape the threat. However, when undisturbed, its digestive process is highly efficient, dissolving and absorbing everything except the hair and the claws, which are expelled along with excess uric acid.
Normally, snakes do not usually attack humans, but there are reports involving large snakes, such as pythons. Although they are docile, there are some particularly aggressive species, yet most do not attack humans unless they are frightened or harassed, preferring to avoid this contact.
